Following her studies at Nottingham Law School, Gemma undertook her training contract and qualified as a Solicitor in 2008. She joined the Straw & Pearce family team in 2010.

As a solicitor, Gemma’s role is to represent clients in matters involving local authority intervention, care proceedings and child protection disputes. She works closely with parents, guardians and other family members to provide clear and compassionate advice whilst navigating sensitive matters. Gemma enjoys being able to make a difference in the lives of children and families and advocating for those who may feel unheard in a typically difficult and emotive time.

In her role as a director, Gemma helps to shape strategic vision and contributes to the overall direction and growth of Straw & Pearce. She focuses on regulatory compliance and ensures high standards of care across the firm.

Gemma is a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children and the Law Society Children Panel.
