Department: Family

Sydney works in the Family Department at Straw & Pearce and specialises in public law children matters involving the local authority and social services. She manages her own caseload of public law matters, including pre-proceedings, offering advice in respect of special guardianship orders and various other family matters where applicable. 

In her role Sydney works with many parents subject to social care involvement who are often battling mental health difficulties or struggling with substance misuse.  She enjoys being able to support parents in making positive changes to improve the care of their children and create a safe and loving home environment.
