Lasting Power of Attorney

Ensuring your personal and financial affairs are managed by someone you trust should you lose the capacity to do so yourself.

At Straw & Pearce our experienced LPA solicitors will provide advice and help you draw up your LPA no matter what your situation. We will talk you through the different LPAs and what they mean so you'll have peace of mind that everything will be dealt with according to your wishes, should the need arise.

An LPA is a legal document that allows someone to appoint one or more people to make decisions on their behalf, either about their health and welfare, their property and financial affairs, or both.

Having an LPA in place will provide you with peace of mind that your matters will be dealt with by someone you trust, in the event that you lose capacity and are unable to make decisions for yourself.

In the event that a person loses capacity and has not appointed an LPA, an application would have to be made to the Court to be appointed a persons’ Deputy, which is expensive and time consuming and the appointed person will not be the choice of the client. It is therefore in every adult’s best interest to have an LPA in place while they have the capacity to do so.

The costs for our LPA solicitors at Straw & Pearce are typically:

  • 1 LPA- £395.00 plus VAT and Court Fee £82.00
  • 2 LPA’s- £695.00 plus VAT and two Court Fees £164.00
  • 4 LPA’s- 1,100.00 plus VAT and four Court Fees £328.00

Please do not hesitate to reach out to a member of our team if you have any questions or would like to appoint an LPA.
