Arjun joined Straw & Pearce as a Trainee Solicitor in August 2018. He is currently completing the first seat of his training contract in our Crime department.
Arjun graduated with a First Class law degree from Nottingham Law School in 2016, before going on to study for his Legal Practice Course. During his studies, he got involved in a range of extra-curricular actives including volunteering for the Witness Service at his local courts and pro-bono work at his university’s legal advice clinic. During this time he discovered his ambition to become a Solicitor.
Before joining us, he worked as an operative for Criminal Defence Direct and provided legal advice over telephone to clients held in police custody across England & Wales. He then progressed to join a large criminal defence firm in Nottingham as a caseworker in their busy Crown Court Department.
Arjun is now expanding on his wealth of knowledge and experience in our Crime department. He assists in all aspects of preparation for both Magistrates and Crown Court cases. He is also a fully accredited Police Station Representative and regularly attends police stations around the East Midlands to advise clients accused of a wide range of offences including serious assaults, breaches of court orders, public order and dishonesty offences.
Arjun also looks forward to applying his skills to other areas of law during his training contract.
